This is day three. I tried earlier with Goten, and he hated it, so I gave up. But Jesse has been showing a great deal of interest in the outdoors, and I thought I'd give it a shot. He's such a big, energetic cat, I'm willing to try some new things to see if they can help expand some of his energy.
He seems to have figured out in this short of time, that no harness, no walk. So, he's rather tolerant of having me put on the harness. (with Goten, he'd end up scratching me to bloody ribbons and then crying like a baby until I took it off) The walking part we're a bit confused on, he seems to want to mostly roll on the driveway and sniff at the flowers my landlord has planted. But, we've done a little walking, around the corner of the house, across the front of the house, and back.
He does get really freaked if a car starts anywhere on the street.
The neighbor saw him today and in broken English said, "That cat, not dog! I know he big, but it CAT!" Not sure if he's trying to be funny, or he really thinks I'm too stupid to know the difference between a cat and a dog.
If I end up with a leash trained cat, I'll have to save up and get Frontline or Advantage. I'm not going to have my cat bring fleas into the house.
But, I have to admit, it would be pretty amusing to be able to walk a cat down the street.
