This is why I hate having to depend on human beings.

Okay, back on August 5th, I posted an entry asking for volunteers to help me test this cat toy I've designed. Many people volunteered. Some were even nice enough to volunteer to pay for postage. Two people were nice enough to actually pay for postage, and it is appreciated. I allowed folks to volunteer if they wanted to pay postage, because the idea was that testing was important, so even if all they could do was test the toy on their cat, it was still an important contribution.

I haven't mailed out all of these toys, I can't afford to all at once, but I have sent out a fair few. I sent the toys either first class or priority mail. Most of them I mailed in mailing tubes rather than the horrible priority things that are too big. Either way, every one I sent out cost about five bucks. So, that means I've spent 40 dollars just in postage and handling. Never mind the cost of the toys. Yes, I was able to use stuff I already had, but it was stuff I paid for at one point and it's stuff I won't be able to use again. And, I did end up having to buy stuff too.

Every single one of them I sent a two part questionair. The first part was to tell me immediet reaction. The second was for people to wait until they had time to try out the toy, then they could mail that one back after a week or two.

Every one, I went to their journals and asked if they would please tell me when they got the toy, the day I mailed it.

ONE PERSON has told me they got it, after I chased them and asked, "Did you get it or what?" No one has mailed back the "First reaction" I'm not expecting the second one yet, but I should have recieved at least one or two of the "first impressions" And, I'm finding it hard to believe that at least seven of these were all "lost in the mail."

If I end up having to find another group of testers, because my first group can't be bothered, then I won't be able to do it, it'll be too expensive.

Before people breathe down my neck to tell me how much of a bitch I am for expecting people to do what they agreed to do? I do want to clarify a couple things...

If I mailed your stuff today, I'm certainly not talking about you.

If you haven't been left a comment in your journal telling me I've mailed the toy? I'm not talking about you, because I haven't gotten to you yet.

One person has suffered a family loss, so I understand why they might not have. I'm not mad at them, although I would love to know if they at least got the darned thing, or if I have to remail it.

If I find out that yes, indeed, all but one of the ones I've mailed have been lost by the Post Office? Then I'm sorry for whinning, but I'm doubting that happened.
