Special Ed, the squirrel with no tail was back at the park this morning when I was walking, which prompted much glee from me, although I quietly contained it, because I didn't want to frighten him. But, I was so afraid something got to him and he was in squirrel heaven. Instead, it seems he just took a vacation.
My hopes were that he went to some form of squirrel physical therapy, because as far as squirrels go, he's not the most graceful of the lot.
But, I saw him, my eyes lit up, and I went to sneak over to a tree to leave some peanuts for him.
He saw me, and ran, as he usually does, up a tree. This is our usual routeen. He must think I'm a lunatic, he runs off, and I leave him peanuts. "What is with this weird lady?"
Well, today I realized that while he is rather cute and rat like, sans tail, he's also a dork.
He fell out of the tree.
Yes, that's right, he fell out of the tree.
Hit the grass. Laid there for a moment like, "Wow, how weird... once I was up, now I'm down on the ground. This gravity stuff bites the big one."
He flipped around, saw me again and ran off.
This time, he ran into the tree.
Clearly I bring out the dork in this poor fellow. I should leave him alone before he seriously hurts himself.
