But this guy was just... nice. Talked to us like we were human beings, and most important, listened to Todd, and didn't take that condesending attitude of, "Don't you tell me what's wrong with you, you're not a doctor!"
They did X-Rays and his opinion was that for someone who weighed as much as Todd did at one point, his bones were in remarkably good shape. There is one little spot of wear.
Sooo, we have an MRI next wednesday. Doctor seems pretty sure that it's a cartilage problem, that can be fixed up pretty easily. If it isn't that, he suspects one other thing, that had a weird name... which of course I forget. But if I remember correctly, it's something breaking off and floating around in your knee, getting bigger and bigger.
But, he didn't pull Todd out of work. Gave him a combination pain killer / antinflamitory medication. Todd took the first one and said he didn't notice much of a difference.
I'm just feeling a lot better about it. I was worried the doctor would be going, "My god, these knees are terrible!" And I had this dream last night that we went to the doctor and he just looked at Todd and said, "We have to amputate!" Yeah, my mind loves to play "let's imagine the worst possible thing ever!"
I didn't get to the mall to walk until later tonight. I bumped into a waitress that used to work where I work. She went into fits of delight over my hair being dyed black. Raved on and on about it, which I thought was nice, but then, she proceeded to say, about the tackiest thing I've ever heard. "Your hair looks so nice like this. I hate that red hair you have!"
Now, I thought at first she might have thought that I dyed my hair red... so I told her, "Uh, that's my natural coloring!"
She goes, "Oh, I know that. You have light skin and freckles, but really, it looks like shit. You should keep it dyed black!"
Now, if this was anyone else, I'd probably be slightly hurt. But this girl... well, you have to know her. She's just... like that. It took everything I had not to snort and go, 'Leave it to you, darling, to say something totally tacky while you're complimenting me!" I'm actually looking forward to the day my hair goes back to it's natural coloring, which will probably take about a million years.
Oh, we bought one of those foot spas today too. 17 dollars at Wal*Mart. I haven't tried it yet, but I will be soon. Mmmmm, my feet are really looking forward to that!
So, that was my
