I payed all my bills that I could online today. Used some of the money from my folks to whack down half of the HUGE CREDIT CARD BILL FROM HELL. I'd pay the whole thing, but I know my parents will start asking what happened to the money soon. "What have you spent it on?" So, I spent a bit on that. I've got some in savings for "emergencies" and some in an 11 month CD. Yes, I have a nice chunk of money, but that must be SAVED FOR EMERGENCIES! Okay, I did admit we bought a new chair and sofa, which will be delivered in a month. But, that really was kinda an emergency, as Todd's chair is so broken that we have newspapers and rags stuffed in part of it so he sits almost level. And if you sit down too quickly on the sofa, you sit on nails. Not fun. Not to mention the covers on the sofa cushions are history. I've sewn them up as best I could several times, but now they've started splitting in the middle of the fabric.
The new sofa is one of those wider ones, very thick, very marshmellow-y. So is the chair. You sit in this stuff and it absolutely demands you must relax. It reminds me of the worn furniture we'd buy in college, that we'd call "veg" furniture.
Anyway, so all bills that could be paid online are paid. Phone bill, credit cards, cable, etc. That leaves electric and gas I'll have to mail out. Also, I did the trash today, washed the kitchen floor, did the once a week scrub out of all three litter boxes (Yes, my cats each want their own litterbox lately, the picky little b*stards) I set up the new "rolling" one that I bought yesterday. That will replace the cardboard box I was using for one litter box. That leaves the lidded one for clay litter, the flat cheap pan for Remy, with the scoopable stuff, and the rolling one with scoopable stuff.
So, I have done a lot of responsible, mature, adult things today. This is good.
So, please, can I have a cookie?
