I know 25 bucks a year isn't a huge amount of money. But, it's a lot of money when I'm buying a service that I can only use with some ease between midnight and 3:00 in the afternoon. Evenings are when I'm most likely to want to be on LJ.
Yes, I know, this is the signal for all the LJ zombies to come out and tell me how evil I am, how Brad is God and how dare I complain because gosh and golly, the folks at LJ work so damned hard for all of us and if I was a decent human being I'd hand them a few hundred dollars a day and tell them, "it's okay, I don't care if you never get the service working!"
But, I come from a time when if you paid for something you got something. A service (which I consider LJ to be, not a gift, unless you're a free user. If you pay, you're buying the service) should work. If they had a rule about certain times I could use it, I wouldn't sign up for it.
You know, I'd scrap together fifty bucks for a year if they could garentee me that 75% of the time I could use the service between 3:00 in the afternoon and 12:00 at night without constantly having error messages. 75%. I understand crap happens.
Little note here for the zombies who think that paying for a service means nothing... if this was cable TV and between 3:00 in the afternoon and 12:00 at night, cable got glitchy, suddenly your TV would stop working, etc. etc. would you be complaining loudly? I think you would.
